In the last couple of weeks, we haverecieved calls and new clients who ?just want to establish ties with a Home Care Company? or ?need a bath visit once or twice?.
I?m wondering whether this is sheer coincidence or an actual trend? Although we usually have a minimum hours of care a week inorder to aid in forming a schedule and routine for both the client and their spouse, flexibility is an important feature in home care.? Usually a call comes when a family is in a crisis or after a hospital or rehab stay so the need is acute and can last a few weeks or much longer. That is the obvious call to make. It is a bit more subtle to think ahead, even?when there is? a real possibility of needing in home assistance, and actually making the call and establishing a relationship prior to the actual need.
Starting slowly, with a bath visit?or a driver for shopping is another way to become familiar with a home health company, and get used to having an aide or assistant/driver.

We hope this is a trend. We applaud those families who do use a little forsight when thinking about a frail parent or a mostly healthy but aging parent, and their needs in living independently in their own homes.
